Bulgy is a double-decker bus; he is a grumpy bus who used to live in a hen farm.

We don't know much about Bulgy past, but he sure hates the railway. Long time ago Bulgy took a shortcut that was faster that the railway but got stuck under a bridge. He was turned into a hen-house by Sir Topham Hatt. Few years later Bulgy was sent back to the roads after Emily and Thomas needed repairs. After few repairs Bulgy looks as good-as-new. He rested the next day at the hen farm. The hen's hopped into Bulgy and hid on the racks.The next day it went all wrong, the hens woke up and the passengers were mad due to the feathers. Bulgy changed into a vegie stand as vegatables wont complain or lay eggs.
But somewhere in between Bulgy changed back too a road bus and was back getting angry to the railway.
Season 1[]
During Season 1 Bulgy doesn't have a large roll or any roll in fact. Bulgy was a background character that could be seen most times in the background. He made a debut in Lorry Takes a Tumble, he is seen at Brendam Docks.
Bulgy seen next to Gordon in the epsiode Duties of the Diesels.
Season 2[]
In the first-half of Season 2 Bulgy was once again a background characters, in the background you can see him standing next to other characters like James and George.
however in episode 25 Save Sir Topham Hatt, Bulgy got for the first time a role.
Bulgy alongside Thomas and Salty were watching Sir Topham Hatt inspecting a tunnel with a small bridge. But just than the bridge broke and Flying Scotsman ran on the same time under it. Everyone panicked that Sir Topham was ran over. Thomas wanted to tell everyone in the yard about what ahppend but Bulgy told him he would be faster. Fw minutes later Thomas decided to go to the yard where the engines got the information. It's not mentioned in the epsiode but it's most likey Bulgy was late.
In episode 28 Disaster on Sodor, a lot of chaos happend. This leaded to Cranky dropping cargo on Salty who crashed his trucks causing oil to spill on the road, just than Bulgy road along and slipped on the oil. He lost control and ran into some dairy cars that Ducnan pulled.
